z. Fruit harvested on 12/6 and left in boxes in a cool dry place until 12/15 when the fruit were pressure tested. The higher the fruit firmness number, the firmer the fruit.
y. 80% of the Merced fruit were rotted on the test day, hence the reason for the small size.
