These were very popular in the latter part of the last century, and you could hardly go into a home that you would not find a herb pillow. They had fancy designs crocheted on silken material. Nostalgia for the past has renewed an interest in them. Many herb combinations are used to fill pillows like rose geranium, lavender, rosemary, lemon balm and lemon verbena. Although the main purpose of these pillows is their decorative value and their sweet aroma, many claim receiving relief from insomnia by sleeping on a fragrant herb pillow.
