PUMPKIN BREAD

1 cup water
1 cup vegetable oil
2 cups cooked, mashed pumpkin
3 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 cup chopped pecans
1 1/2 cup chopped dates
3 1/2 cups self rising flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Combine water, oil, pumpkin, sugar, eggs, pecans and dates in a large mixing bowl; mix well. Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, salt and baking powder. Add to pumpkin mixture and blend thoroughly. Pour into 2 greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pans. Bake in a 350o oven for 1 1/2 hours. YIELD: 2 loaves.
